Studies to improve transport in North East Wales published
12th November 2012
Two transport studies looking at ways to improve the transport infrastructure in North East Wales have been published today.
The North East Wales Area Based Transport Study (NEWABTS) and the A55/A494 Study contain a series of possible measures that could help tackle transport issues in the region. NEWABTS, carried out jointly with the Regional Transport Consortium - Taith, include a number of rail, road, bus, freight, walking and cycling measures that could be delivered in the short, medium and longer term subject to funding. The A55/A494 Study considers transport issues on the trunk road between Deeside and Northop and identifies options for addressing these problems.
The views of Flintshire County Council, interest groups and the general public will be sought as part of the next stage of developing the A55/A494 study options in more detail.
Both studies can be found here.
