Welsh Labour Conference 2012
17th February 2012
Welsh Labour will be hosting their conference this weekend at the Swalec Stadium in Cardiff. Shadow Secretary of State for Wales Peter Hain and First Minister Carwyn Jones are welcoming hundreds of members from across Wales making it the biggest and best conference yet.
Carwyn Jones said:
“Welsh Labour in government is showing that there is an alternative to the Tory – Lib Dem cuts agenda. We have spent the last ten months delivering on our promises to the people of Wales; investing in the economy and jobs, creating a first-class education system for our children and protecting the NHS from Tory privatisation."
Peter Hain said:
"Labour’s challenge is immense, we need to defy recent electoral history and become a one-term opposition. We know that the Tory-led UK Government won’t give up without a fight, but neither will Welsh Labour. In Wales we will lead the fight back against the Tories, recruiting thousands of registered supporters across Wales, creating not just an election machine, but a movement.”
