Labour Party members in the Brecon and Radnorshire constituency have selected Chris Lloyd as their prospective parliamentary candidate for the next General Election.
Chris, 22, was brought up in Knighton, in the north of the constituency, and was educated at John Beddoes School, Presteigne. He has a degree in Politics and Law from the University of Greenwich. He currently works as a Parliamentary Research Assistant for Louise Ellman MP, who is Chair of the influential House of Commons Transport Select Committee.
A local and energetic member of the Labour party, Chris Lloyd promises to be a high-profile candidate for Labour. He has been a Labour party activist for many years and makes a huge impact on any campaign that he is involved in.
Welsh Labour’s Prospective Parliamentary Candidate in Brecon and Radnorshire CHRIS LLOYD said:
“My experience of growing up in Knighton taught me just what an important and unique part of the world we live in. This distinctiveness, I feel, is formed by our shared sense of comradeship and pride in our communities. Opportunity and self improvement should not be limited by where an individual lives, the colour of their skin, gender or sexual orientation. Mutual respect, liberty and equality for all are what the Labour Party believes in. I am proud to share these beliefs.
"Labour has chosen a course of stability though this period of international instability. Labour’s management of the economy has lead to unemployment in Brecon and Radnorshire falling by 34.7% since 1997.
“Although 9,000 Children across our area are better off thanks to Labour’s family tax credit package I will fight for more. I am on the side of hardworking families and I am committed to the development of the facilities that we all rely upon.
“We live in an area of world class natural beauty. I want to see this beauty and diversity matched by public services and facilities that we can all be equally proud of.”
