In touch – on the ground
- Rhodri Morgan to “storm” through crucial battleground council seats
LABOUR First Minister Rhodri Morgan will “storm” through crucial election battleground seats over the next two days.
He said he will find out what is concerning people on the ground and unveil important local policy announcements. Rhodri will visit Swansea, Newport, Wrexham, Denbighshire and Flintshire.
Following the tour Welsh Labour will release its latest party political broadcast, which features members of the public meeting Rhodri at the Senedd building in Cardiff Bay,. The participants texted Welsh Labour after its February broadcast with their policy ideas and were invited to meet the First Minister last week.
RHODRI MORGAN said:
“This election tour is about staying ever closer in touch with the concerns of people across Wales. I want to know where people are pleased with what the Assembly Government is doing, as well as where the shoe is pinching.I will be listening to what people have to tell me and unveiling some really important local policy announcements that will make a real difference to the lives of people in Swansea, Newport, Denbighshire, Wrexham and Flintshire.
“I am going to be swinging through our crucial battleground seats, offering people Labour programmes for running councils that are great value for money, tough on anti-social behaviour, with first-rate services and developing top quality jobs for local people.
“This is about working on the ground to deliver results, the results that the ordinary people of Wales want.
“No other party is as accessible and as open to the needs of the people of Wales as Welsh Labour.”
