Vale of Glamorgan MP, John Smith, welcomed a deal agreed between employers and unions that will see all agency workers in Wales and the Vale of Glamorgan receive equal treatment after 12 weeks employment.

Speaking after the deal was struck, he said:

“I have been very concerned to hear that some people are exploited by unscrupulous agencies.   

“I welcome this agreement which will give increased protection to agency workers and guard against unfair wage cutting. 

"This is something that I and other Labour MPs have been calling for in Parliament for some time.  I am pleased that the Labour Government has listened to our calls and taken action to put the matter right.”
